Marc Fennell is an Australian radio and TV presenter, interviewer film critic, award-winning technology journalist, author, MC and the anchor of SBS Viceland’s live nightly news show The Feed. Marc created and hosts the popular ABC Radio media and tech programme Download This Show. He is also the Creative Director of the Not-for-profit Media Diversity Australia. Over the years, Marc has worked with the likes of BBC, Network Ten, ABC, SBS, Foxtel, Red Bull and Showtime.
For over a decade, Marc has been Australia’s most listened to film critic – better known to over a million triple j listeners as That Movie Guy. He is also the face of movies for SBS, introducing movies throughout the week and he hosting the largest short film festival in the world Tropfest 2014-2016.
His media career began when he won an AFI Outstanding Young Film Critics Award in high school. Marc later became a presenter and producer for all 3 seasons of ABC1’s ground-breaking Hungry Beast under Executive Producer Andrew Denton. Marc investigated digital media, popular culture, gaming and technology. He went on to commentate on film for Network Ten on The Circle, Ten News and The Project. Marc has a long relationship multiple Foxtel channels including Showtime’s The Movie Club, Batmanthology for The Movie Network, The Foxtel Movie Show, Paul Murray Live on Sky News and hosting Uncovered Documentaries for BBC Knowledge.
Marc has written two books: 2011’s That Movie Book and 2015’s Planet According To The Movies. Outside of the media Marc has been a designer, art director, web developer, magazine and newspaper writer. His writing has appeared in everything from Monocle to the Good Food Guide.
